Temple Run 2

Temple Run 2 is an exciting endless-running game where players run through dangerous paths while trying to escape a huge monster. The game improves on the original Temple Run with new locations, obstacles, power-ups, upgrades, and challenges. As the run goes on, the path becomes harder, so players must react quickly and make smart choices.

A New Leveling System

The leveling system gives players clear goals to complete during their runs. Players can have three active goals at one time. Each goal must be completed separately. For example, if a goal asks you to run a certain distance without falling, running much farther will not automatically complete other distance goals.

Completing goals helps players increase their level. A higher level can also improve the score multiplier, helping players get better scores during longer runs.

Useful Upgrades

Coins collected during runs can be used to buy upgrades. These upgrades improve different parts of the game.

  • Coin Value: Increases the value of coins collected during a run.
  • Shield Duration: Makes the shield power-up last longer.
  • Coin Magnet: Makes the magnet attract nearby coins for a longer time.
  • Boost Distance: Allows boost power-ups to cover more distance.
  • Pickup Spawn: Makes useful pickups appear more often.
  • Power Meter: Reduces the number of coins needed to fill the meter.
  • Save Me: Lowers the gem cost needed to continue after falling.
  • Score Multiplier: Increases the score multiplier and helps players get higher scores.

Challenges

Temple Run 2 has different challenges that give players extra coins, gems, and other rewards. Each challenge has a simple task to complete. Some tasks must be finished in one run, while others can be completed across several runs.

Players who enjoy short and challenging runs can also explore Color Tunnel and Crazy Tunnel.

Daily Challenges

Daily Challenges give rewards for completing tasks each day.

  • Day 1: 250 coins
  • Day 2: 500 coins
  • Day 3: 750 coins
  • Day 4: 1,000 coins
  • Day 5: 5,000–15,000 coins or 1–25 gems

These tasks change regularly, giving players a new goal to complete.

Weekly Challenges

Weekly Challenges give players three tasks to complete during the week. These tasks can be finished across multiple runs.

  • First Challenge: 1,000 coins
  • Second Challenge: 5,000 coins
  • Final Challenge: 10 gems

Completing all three challenges can help players collect more coins and gems.

Global Challenges

Global Challenges are special events that last for a limited time. Players can complete the required goal across several runs. The goal may ask players to collect a certain number of coins or earn a specific number of points. Bigger milestones can give special rewards, such as hats, pets, and useful perks.

Common Mistakes

  • Missing Fast Turns: Quick turns can be hard because players have very little time to react. Turning too late can make the character fall or hit an obstacle.
  • Jumping Obstacles: Some sections can have difficult obstacles close together. Players need to time their jumps carefully and stay focused.
  • Reacting Too Slowly: Waiting too long before jumping, turning, or sliding can quickly end a run. Watching the path ahead helps players prepare for the next move.
  • Using Power-Ups Wisely: A Shield or Boost can help in dangerous sections. Saving these power-ups for difficult areas can make tricky parts easier to survive. Players looking for similar reaction-based challenges can also try Tunnel Rush or Tunnel Ball.

Controls

  • Arrow Keys / WASD: Move the character left or right and control movement.

  • Down Arrow / S: Slide under low obstacles and barriers.
  • Left/Right Swipe: Turn corners or change lanes on mobile devices.
  • Up Swipe: Jump over obstacles.
  • Down Swipe: Slide underneath obstacles.
  • Tap: Activate certain power-ups or special abilities when available.
